Who Is Michael Morgan?
Michael Morgan, one of the 76 million baby boomers in the United States,
likes to look on his life as a continuing journey and adventure, never knowing
quite how the next chapter will turn out. He truly believes that the divine
hand of nature is guiding his
life (most of the time on a not-so-obvious level), and that he is protected, guided and
loved by the Creator for who he, Michael, really is.
Michael was born in Los Angeles in 1947, and lived there until he 'escaped
from LA' to UC Berkeley where he majored in physics and then in philosophy. He'd always liked
(as a double Sagittarius would) those broad philosophical, epistemological questions about reality which
have no bearing on how to make a living.
Michael was taught the practice of Transcendental Meditation when he was 23.
Shortly after, he was trained as a teacher of the technique, and has traveled extensively with
the TM movement in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He received his M.A. at Maharishi University
of Management in Fairfield, Iowa. MUM is an innovative
educational institution that emphasizes the study and direct experience of the
universal intelligence that underlies all fields of knowledge. This deeply fundamental approach
to education and research has been a key influence in the inquiry into knowledge and adventure
that has made up most of Michael's adult life.
In 1980, he founded Creative Glassworks International, an innovative high-tech company that
patented the laser and waterjet cutting process for glass and stained glass. The company
revolutionized the 400 year old glass cutting industry. Creative Glass manufactured industrial
automation equipment for the glass industry and, in spin-off form, is still involved in industrial and
artistic glass cutting and fabrication. In the late 1980's Michael was active in the production of multi-media television commercials
and instructional videos.
In early 1990, Michael met the professional love of his life: CranioSacral Therapy (CST).
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands on theraputic technique developed by Dr. John Upledger, D.O. in the mid-1970's.
The technique allows direct access to the central nervous system. Drawing on his research and industrial
automation experience, Michael likes to compare CranioSacral Therapy to the procedure of listening
to the bio-mechanics of the human body.
Michael studied extensively in CST, and now specializes in the practice of CranioSacral Therapy,
Visceral Manipulation, and Somato Emotional Release (all allied components of CranioSacral Therapy).
As part of his professional process, Michael studied personally with Dr. Upledger and
during the last three years he has worked at the Intensive Program at the Brain and Spinal Cord Dysfunction
Center at the Upledger Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. In 1998, Michael was certified by the Upledger
Institute to teach the CranioSacral Level 1 Course. He conducts workshops to healthcare providers across the country,
writes a monthly newsletter, has a private consulting practice, and works
with therapists on a consulting basis in refining their CranioSacral skills.

Michael began to be interested in the role of traditional native
healing practices as an ongoing part of his adventure. Out of this inquiry has come appreciation of the role of ceremony
in our daily lives. Michael has studied with the Bear Tribe and other groups. He is a pipe carrier (a wonderful
way to pray and acknowledge the role of the earth mother in our lives), and has utilized the vision quest
as a way to gain insight into the future. Four years ago he began to study with Michael Harner and
Sandra Ingerman of the Shamanic Studies Institute, and he currently also utilizes the ancient Shamanic practice
of Soul Retrieval in assisting his clients.
