Honor the Elders Project
Executive Summary
I. Possibility
The possibility or vision we hold for the Honor the Elders project is self
empowerment and self-reliance and self-sufficiency for all seniors in the U.S.
aged 60 or over. Traditionally, our elders have been a source of inspiration
and counsel for the younger generations. We are inspired to help alter the
cultural conversation regarding the role of our elders in our society.
Utilizing alternative and cost effective programs in craniosacral therapy,
senior massage and exercise, nutrition and nursing home management, the Honor
the Elders project offers the possibility of supporting a new, more active and
more empowering role for our elders: a self sufficient and sought after
resource for the younger generations
II.
Program
The Honor the Elders Project utilizes nationally and internationally recognized
and established organizations, as a resource for providing personnel,
implementation, training and evaluation. The Program is designed to be
implemented in nursing homes, senior centers, community support centers,
rehabilitation centers, hospitals as well as within the homes of individual
seniors - essentially, any place that seniors can be reached. The organizations
that we are targeting would find these resources of value include insurance
companies, nursing home chains, senior wellness programs in hospitals and
organizations which are focused on improving the quality of life for
individuals aged 60 or over. The Program is designed to be either modular or
comprehensive based upon the specific services described and attached
herein.
III.
Administration
A national administrative team will manage the Honor the Elders project on an
ongoing basis. As part of that administration, we will assist with
implementation on a local, regional and national basis. For additional
